Today is my birthday! It’s a bit of a melancholic day for me anyway… mixed feelings swirling about. Most of these feelings are surrounding extreme gratitude, appreciation, warmth and love and also excitement for what is yet to come. But some of the other feelings recall a certain pain and deep understanding of the many twists and turns life has for us as we get older. A bit of reminiscing of the past, a bit of daydreaming of the future and a lot of appreciation for the exact present moment. A dance. Of course I would compare these swirls and twirls to my favourite style of movement!
Today I am 37 years old. I do not feel a day older than 25. Age is truly just a number and I feel extremely privileged to see yet another candle on my cake! I wear my age with pride! I hope to never act my age and I hope to always feel like aging is a privilege and a chance to become wiser.
Thank you to all who are reading my deepest thoughts of gratitude today. Also thank you to all who have sent me wonderful well wishes for my birthday!
ps I had a beautiful orange cake to celebrate this year. It was topped with a majestic chocolate dragon. I will take this as a symbol of my dragon year.
